About OpenGeoShift

Who am I?
I'm Matt, a GIS engineer with over 20 years of experience in geospatial software development. My work spans a wide range of technologies and domains, from spatial data processing and backend systems to web mapping and infrastructure automation.
My background
For over 10 years, I worked at Capgemini, where I contributed to large-scale GIS solutions across both public and private sectors. This experience gave me a strong foundation in enterprise-grade software development, as well as exposure to the challenges of scaling and integrating geospatial systems in complex IT environments.
My objectives
Today, I focus on modern, open-source approaches to GIS — including DevOps practices, containerized workflows, and cloud-native architectures. This blog is my way of sharing ideas, testing tools, and contributing back to the GIS developer community.
About this website
